Privacy notice
This privacy notice covers this website only — the documentation site for the Nextcloud apps published by Software by Design GbR. The apps themselves run inside your Nextcloud and process data only on your infrastructure.
Last updated: 11 May 2026
1. Controller
The controller in the sense of Art. 4 (7) GDPR is:
Software by Design GbRHusumer Baum 2
24837 Schleswig, Germany
Email: datenschutz@software-by-design.de
2. Scope of this notice
This notice describes how personal data is processed when you visit this documentation site. It does not cover the Nextcloud apps themselves — those run inside your own Nextcloud instance, and the controller for any data processed by them is the organisation operating that Nextcloud instance.
3. Cookies & local storage
This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
4. Analytics & tracking
We use no web analytics on this site — no Matomo, no Plausible, no Google Analytics, no fingerprinting, no pixels. We also do not embed third-party fonts, social-media widgets, or advertising scripts.
5. Server log files
Our hosting provider records technical access logs in order to operate the service securely. These logs typically include:
- Date and time of the request
- The requested URL and HTTP method
- HTTP status code and amount of data transferred
- The referring URL (if sent by the browser)
- Browser identification (user agent)
- The IP address of the requesting system
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure operation of the website and the detection and defence against attacks on the technical infrastructure. Log data is stored for a maximum of seven days and then deleted automatically.
6. Contact by email
If you contact us by email — for example via the addresses listed in our Imprint — the data you transmit (your email address, the contents of the message, any attachments, and time of receipt) will be processed for the purpose of answering your request.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual / contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required, unless statutory retention periods apply.
Note: data transmitted by email is not technically protected by default. We recommend not sending personal or confidential data that you wish to keep secret in plain-text email.
7. Hosting
This site is hosted on infrastructure operated for Software by Design GbR. The hosting provider acts as a processor in the sense of Art. 28 GDPR; an order processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) is in place. Data is processed exclusively within the European Union.
